1. “DECENTER ROOM/EYE-LICKING”
"DECENTER ROOM / EYE-LICKING" invites you to enter it through its tiny devices/screens - smartphones and mini tablets - standing out as a cluster of small flickering artificial light points amidst the profusion of works from Chapter 1: Parallel Biome Hypothesis. Scattered irregularly, the devices create patterns of screens on the walls, varying in length and width, vertically and horizontally. Visitors navigate the space, locating different constellations of screens, grouped in asymmetric quantities, displaying video/.GIF works that constitute the experience of "DECENTER ROOM / EYE-LICKING".
A space with many small eyes; a living being with numerous optical-motor nerve apparatus. The time of being submerged inside a mouth, being tasted by the nervous connections of its voracious tongue.
When describing such an experience, we immediately think of the eye gnat. It is the common name for various species of tiny flies of the genus Hippelates, from the family Chloropidae, which have the habit of licking the corners of human and other animals' eyes, sometimes causing ulcers and infections. They are also known by the name: “EYE-LICKING”.
